www.irongateafa.org (The Iron Gate Chapter of the Air Force Association was chartered in September 1961 to maintain an Air Force presence in New York City after the closing of Mitchel Field. Iron Gate has since contributed nearly Three-Million-Dollars to Aerospace Education, and they are now preparing for the celebration of their Golden Anniversary in 2011. (More than a million fathers served in World War II. Leaving their wives and children, they traveled overseas, where many paid the highest price in service to their country. AWON (American WWII Orphans Network) is dedicated to their Fathers and to the service of their families. Teens that would like to write an essay about one of these brave men should use the Contact Us section to be matched with one of the AWON heroes. lkczorowski@hotmail.com (361st Infantry Association WWII. As the first battles of WWII were being fought in 1942, the 91st Infantry Division was reactivated at Camp White Oregon. In 1944 the division departed for the European Continent. There the 361st Regimental Combat team was detached to participate in the battles for Rome and the Arno River. It became the first Fifth Army unit to reach the river. In September, 1944, the division crossed the Sieve River, outflanked the famous Gothic Line, and captured the Futa Pass. For it's part in combat, the division was awarded the North Apennines, Po Valley and Rome-Arno campaign streamers. The division was deactivated at For Rucker, Alabama, in December 1945. ") S

It is also the home of the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame. Visit their site to find out more about Mission Quest summer camp and other featured programs and exhibits. In the Education section under 7th - 12th grades both Mission Quest and the American Veteran project are listed.) S

The song is especially significant to Rebecca who is married to former Air Force pilot and NASA astronaut, Tom Henricks. In support of our troops, Rebecca is donating proceeds of Sandbox to the Veterans Airlift Command (VAC). VAC provides free air transportation to wounded warriors, veterans and their families for medical and other compassionate purposes through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots. “This song is for Americans serving in the Middle East. We truly appreciate and support them.”)

This is not a war Memorial but a Memorial to those who served in the war, both living and dead.
